01 / THE WORK

An update arriving late should not disappear into yesterday’s plan

Where office and field teams exchange updates at different times, the workflow needs to distinguish current information from a delayed message. We build a clear intake and review path with timestamps, job matching and an exception owner. Your team receives a working flow and test cases for missing, repeated and out-of-order updates, not just a fast reply generator.

02 / THE WORK

Illustrative example: Reconcile a delayed completion update

A field message arrives after the office has already prepared a follow-up. The workflow links it to the job, shows when the work was reported and when the message was received, and asks the coordinator to review the conflicting status. It does not create a second completion or send an outdated reminder. A later update changes the proposed action only after its record match and sequence have been checked.

04 / THE WORK

What to bring to discovery

Provide a redacted delayed update with sent and received times to show how late messages are currently handled. Document examples of repeated or out-of-order job events so the workflow can distinguish current from delayed information. Describe the connectivity conditions and the manual collection route used when field connections drop. Define the coordinator approval process and how stale reminders are handled to avoid sending outdated messages.

05 / THE WORK

Agree the remote working conditions early

We offer remote discovery and demonstrations for Darwin teams. Confirm how field updates are collected, whether connectivity is intermittent and who can review them in the office. Meeting times should use named time zones: the Northern Territory does not observe daylight saving. Offline capture, remote-site access and ongoing response arrangements need explicit technical scoping rather than assumptions.

06 / THE WORK

Bring an update that arrived in the wrong order

Its job reference, sent and received times, and the action staff took will show what the workflow needs to check before it can safely help.

Before we start.

Will the workflow work when a field connection drops?

That condition needs an explicit design and test. We check what can be captured locally, what must wait for reconnection and how staff confirm a delayed update. An offline or manual collection route must be agreed in the scope; it is not assumed to exist in your current tools.

How are duplicate completion updates handled?

The workflow links the update to the job and shows when the work was reported versus when the message was received. It does not create a second completion or send an outdated reminder. A later update changes the proposed action only after its record match and sequence have been checked.
